ok, i have been asked this question several time “ How can i send the SQL Agent Job Notification to multiple emails/users” and here is what you can do.

There are more than one ways to achieve this either through operators and through Job Steps too.. but we will focus on the more easier method and which works.

SQL Server 2005 –> Under SQL Server Agent explorer there is entity called “Operators” which is the alias for users.

SQL Server 2000 —> Under Management –> SQL Server Agent –> Operators

********* Screens i will be using are SSMS 2005 Screens, but 2000 are similar **************

right click on operators then –> New Operator

Name this operator as per your Group Name or Project or Job Category name if none of these then “GreatGoodGroup” and this is the example name i assigned here.

In the Email Name, you can separate the emails addresses semi colon; and that’s it.. click ok and enjoy. (not really)

Now in the Job Notification section under email, you will have to assign this group to appropriate notification scenario. and now that’s it.

So this time when the job fails/succeeds/completes, users are going to be notified too.

OR

you can create another job step and make it send emails to users upon completion of the step. But if the previous step fails your notification steps fails. so using the notifications section in Job Properties is a better option.
